September 5 2023 In response to the Gabonese coup d'état, ECCAS condemned the military use of force, suspended Gabon's membership, and moved its headquarters from Libreville to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
September 1 2020 Gilberto Da Piedade Verissimo of Angola was appointed President of the ECCAS Commission.
2016 Rwanda rejoined ECCAS after previously leaving in 2007.
