January 2023 Ali Abdelhalim Ali becomes the current director of the Egyptian Museum, continuing the long tradition of leadership in the institution.
April 3 2021 The Pharaohs' Golden Parade took place, where 22 royal mummies (18 kings and 4 queens) were ceremonially transferred from the Egyptian Museum to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat. The mummies were moved to new state-of-the-art display cases that provide improved temperature and humidity control for better preservation.
