Calibri became central evidence in the 'Panama Papers' case (Fontgate) in Pakistan, where a document supposedly signed in February 2006 was found to be forged because it was typed in Calibri, which was not publicly available at that time. Font inventor Lucas De Groot stated there was 'really zero chance' the document was genuine.

Gerald McGoey, former CEO of Look Communications, filed for personal bankruptcy and produced documents purportedly signed in 1995, which were revealed to be forged as they were typed in Calibri.
