May 24 2022 Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab, an Iraqi citizen, was arrested for plotting to assassinate former President Bush. He was accused of planning the assassination due to anger over the Iraq War, and had conducted surveillance of the Bush home in Dallas and the George W. Bush Institute. Shihab claimed connections to ISIS members and had entered the US illegally in September 2020.
October 2020 Barry Croft Jr was reported to have included Trump in a list of politicians he wanted to kill, as part of a broader kidnapping plot. He was later sentenced to 19 years in prison in December 2022.
September 2020 Ricin-containing letters addressed to Trump were intercepted by Secret Service. Canadian woman Pascale Ferrier was arrested and sentenced to 22 years in prison for sending poisoned letters to Trump and law enforcement officials.
April 20 2019 Larry Mitchell Hopkins, a member of the United Constitutional Patriots militia, was arrested after allegedly confessing to a planned assassination plot targeting Obama and Hillary Clinton.
October 2018 A package containing a pipe bomb was sent to Obama's home in Washington, D.C., which was intercepted by the Secret Service.
October 2018 A pipe bomb addressed to Hillary Clinton was intercepted by the Secret Service at their Chappaqua, New York home. Bill Clinton was present during the interception. The package was sent by Cesar Sayoc, who was captured two days later and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
October 1 2018 An envelope laced with ricin was sent to Trump, discovered by mailing facilities. William Clyde Allen III was later arrested and charged with mailing threats against the president.
November 2017 An Islamic State-affiliated man was arrested in Manila, Philippines for planning to assassinate Trump during the ASEAN Summit, after being detected by Secret Service prior to Trump's arrival.
September 6 2017 Gregory Lee Leingang attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump in Mandan, North Dakota by stealing a forklift and trying to flip the presidential motorcade. He was arrested, pleaded guilty, and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
February 2015 Three men from New York City were arrested by the FBI after discussing plans to kill Obama and join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant with undercover agents.
June 2013 Two white supremacists, Glendon Scott Crawford and Eric Feight, were arrested for a plot involving a homemade 'radiation gun', with Crawford suggesting using the device against President Obama among other targets.
May 2013 Ricin-laced letters were sent to Obama and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, threatening to kill anyone attempting to take away the sender's guns. The letters were sent by actress Shannon Richardson, who attempted to frame her husband Nathan for the crime.

October 2012 Mitchell Kusick, a mentally ill man from Westminster, Colorado, was arrested after confessing to his therapist that he intended to kill Obama with a shotgun at a campaign stop in Boulder, Colorado.
November 2011 Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, a 21-year-old influenced by conspiracy theories, traveled from Idaho and fired several rounds from a semi-automatic rifle at the White House, breaking a window. He was subsequently sentenced to 25 years in prison.
